What does Desk Dollars collect?

Teachers provide account, school, country, legal acceptance, and subscription information. Educators create limited student identities and classroom records such as simulated balances, immutable transactions, jobs and payroll, rent, store orders, goals, and pets. The service also uses limited session, security, email-delivery, audit, and privacy-focused self-hosted analytics data. The Privacy Policy provides the complete categories and purposes.

Who can see student balances?

A logged-in student sees that student's own account. Authorized educators see students in their classes, and Andrew Hall may access records only for operation, support, security, privacy, and legal needs. Student pages show first name and last initial, no classmate balances, and no leaderboards.

How do schools authorize use?

An adult educator or authorized school representative creates the account and confirms authority. Teachers create student identities. Schools evaluate their COPPA, FERPA, contract, notice, consent, and local approval requirements. The COPPA/FERPA notice and DPA explain Desk Dollars' commitments and retained duties.

How can data be exported or deleted?

Teachers can download a scoped account export and make a password-confirmed privacy deletion request. Parents and eligible students can work through the school or email [email protected]. Requests are verified without disclosing another person's account. Deletion anonymizes direct identifiers while preserving immutable transaction and necessary accounting history; teacher-authored transaction descriptions, student-visible reasons, pet names, and historical pet records may remain under anonymized identity.

What happens after access ends?

A 14-day trial is followed by a 30-day recovery window if trial or complimentary access ends. Paid access has a 90-day recovery window after the paid-through period ends; a failed renewal may have a 7-day renewal grace period first. Classroom access pauses while export, deletion, support, legal, and subscription recovery remain available.

What do Stripe and Link do?

Managed Payments are Sold through Link, LLC. Sold through Link, LLC is the merchant of record, and Stripe/Link independently handle card collection, transaction support, fraud, tax, and payment records. Desk Dollars receives limited subscription status and does not receive or store full card details. The annual plan is $29.99 USD, automatically renews, remains active to a cancelled paid-through date, and is generally nonrefundable subject to legal or discretionary exceptions.

What happens during an incident or business closure?

Andrew Hall coordinates containment, evidence, vendors, scope, session or credential changes, restoration, and jurisdiction-specific notices. A planned business closure includes reasonable notice and an export opportunity when feasible, followed by deletion or anonymization. Emergency, legal, security, or insolvency conditions may limit advance notice.

Is Desk Dollars available everywhere?

Availability is conditional. If a region requires an unresolved representative, international transfer mechanism, DPIA, vendor fact, registration, or other operational step, signup for that affected region stays disabled. The service does not claim universal compliance.

How do I contact Desk Dollars?

Email [email protected]. Identify your relationship to the account and the school or class context, but do not send a password. Andrew Hall operates Desk Dollars as an individual/sole proprietor in Florida, United States. The en-US text controls.
